About the Event

As winter settles over Australia, CappingTV is lighting up the cold with LAN Downunder 2026. On July 18th and 19th, eight teams gather at the Fortress Arena in Melbourne to fight for the title of champion.

For the third year running, LAN Downunder returns to Fortress' flagship venue with a lineup that mixes returning grand finalists and players stepping onto a LAN stage for the first time — and marks ten years of CappingTV along the way. So rug up and settle in, whether that's from your couch or a seat in the arena.

Format & Config

Tournament Format

  • Day 1 (Sat): Round robin best-of-one group stage with all eight teams.
  • Day 2 (Sun): Top four teams advance to best-of-three double-elimination playoffs.
  • Grand Final: The final two teams play a best-of-five for the title.

Config & Rules

  • Unity ruleset for all Control Point maps.
  • Round Robin CP matches: 30-minute timer, with a 5-minute overtime if tied — the team holding mid when overtime expires wins.
  • King-of-the-Hill maps are played as a Best-of-5.

What is the tournament format?

Day 1 (Saturday) is a best-of-one round robin group stage with all eight teams. Day 2 (Sunday) sees the top four advance to best-of-three double-elimination playoffs, with the final two teams playing a best-of-five grand final.

What config and ruleset are being used?

The Unity ruleset is used throughout for Control Point maps. Round Robin CP matches run a 30-minute timer with a 5-minute overtime if tied — if still tied, the team holding mid wins. King-of-the-Hill maps are played as a Best-of-5.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes, attendees must be 18 years of age or older to participate in or attend LAN Downunder 2026.

Can I bring outside food and drink?

No. Outside food and drink is not permitted at the venue. Food and beverages are available on site at Fortress Arena.

What is the prize pool?

The full prize pool will be confirmed closer to the event. Fans can contribute via the official donation portal — donations go towards the prize pool and help cover event costs, and donors over $50 will receive some limited-run merch!
